I have always been really interested in eastern culture. I was inspired to do this while researching shadow puppets and reading about how traditionally the puppets depicting men were painted in bold colours and the puppets depicting women were kept behind the shadow screens and sometimes not painted at all. We are lucky as Canadian women to have so many choices and freedoms and we should be proud of where we come from.
